Lodging Tax Increase Coming In Bath County

An increase in the transient occupany tax has been approved by the Bath County Board of Supervisors for the Omni Homestead Resort by five percent. Revenue from the tax increase will be returned to Omni to make capital improvements at the hotel located in Hot Springs. The increase takes effect September 1st. The Omni Homestead is one of only two proporties in the state eligible for the tax. To qualify, a property has to have 450 or more rooms and has to be on one or more parcels of land totalling in excess of 700 acres, along with portions of the property constructed before 1930.
