Greenbrier County Receives Money For Recycling

Recycling gets more high profile in Greenbrier County after the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection announces that close to $40,000 is headed there for recycling efforts. Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity is receiving $38,000 to help pay for the purchase of a van plus utility costs for its recycling operation. The money is part of close to two dozen entities splitting $1.3 million as part of the Rehabilitation Environmental Action Plan (REAP). The money comes from the $1 per ton assessment fee for solid waste disposed at in-state landfills.
