Augusta County’s Courthouse Conflict

The realities of real estate are somem of the issues facing Augusta County as it looks for a courthouse solution. Voters want to keep the courts here. The county’s current blueprint calls for an expansion that would require demolition of buildings that sit around circuit court, but the county doesn’t own any of those buildings, private entities do. Plus some are on the National Registry of Historic Places. Some say multiple buildings instead of one, may fit in better with the landscape.
