Homeowners near the old Shenandoah Life building in Roanoke are not happy about development plans for part of the property. Tempers flared at a presentation meeting last night over the 17 acres where Greensboro, North Carolina developer Berkley Hall plans to build 224 apartments. Carilion purchased the Shenandoah Life building back in 2015 and decided to sell off part of the land to Berkley Hall. Neighbors had hoped that Carilion would have kept the acreage as a park with trails.
