Police are investigating a crash on Lee Highway in Botetourt County that killed a James River High School student. The accident happened Saturday night when police say 17-year-old Trystan Lowdermilk lost control of the car he was driving causing it to hit an embankment and flip over. A 16-year-old girl, who was also in the car, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Authorities say neither was wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
