Shooting In Clifton Forge

Sunday evening, the Alleghany County Emergency Dispatch Center received a 911 call that someone had been shot in the leg during an apparent robbery. The victim, a male, was located at the Stop In Shell Station in Clifton Forge. The Clifton Forge Police Department and the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, as well as, the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad. The victim reported to authorities that a man tried to steal his wallet and had fled the scene in a black truck. Make and model unknown. Direction of travel unknown. The victim was transported to Lewisgale Hospital Alleghany for treatment and later transferred to a Roanoke area hospital for further treatment.
