Alleghany County Sheriff And Son Singled Out By Gov In Speech

Alleghany County Sheriff Kevin Hall and his son Ryan were singled out by Gov. Ralph Northam in his speech to the legislature Wednesday. Northam made reference to Ryan Hall’s battle with heroin and fentanyl and how, with the support of family and his faith, he has been clean for over a year. Northam told the crowd how Kevin, an honor roll student and son of a well-respected sheriff, fractured his leg in a high school football game and ultimately became hooked on the medication he was given for pain. He also talked of how Kevin and his family put together a powerful video about their journey, as father and son, trying to battle addiction.
