New Contract For WestRock Union Employees In Covington

Hourly workers at WestRock in Covington voted Wednesday, April 11, 2018 to accept a new contract approved by 54% of hourly employees at the Covington Mill.

In 2015, a Labor Agreement expired and the parties negotiated an extension that include wage and pension improvements and was set to expire on 12/1/2016. Hourly employees continue to work under the terms of the Labor Agreement.

WestRock’s current offer contained concessions on pay and seniority provisions, as well as sweeping changes to our Maintenance and Maintenance Support departments. The new offer contained no signs of a trickle down from the corporate tax savings from the Tax Reform Bill passed in January of this year.
